Our primary instructor, Matthew Little, is a US Army Special Forces combat veteran who has extensive law enforcement experience, including serving as training coordinator and an operational supervisor on a major metropolitan SWAT team, and has worked as a government contractor in non-permissive environments. Additionally, Matt is a lifelong martial artist and former national level competitor. He is also ranked as a master class shooter with pistol and carbine by both the US Practical Shooting Association and the International Defensive Pistol Association. Matt has also received numerous tactical shooting skill awards, including Turbo Pin #14, Three Sevens Coin #33, and the Refactor Tactical Kill Card patch. He has instructed foreign and US military personnel and police officers, martial artists, and civilians. This instructional experience was not solely academic, as he was usually then leading his students operationally either in combat or in arguably the most violent major city in North America. Along with his operational, competitive, and instructional experience, Matt is passionate about his own training. He has completed numerous military and law enforcement training courses and continues to train with many of the industry’s top instructors as often as possible.

    Highly Recommended

I highly recommend private lessons from Matt. I have taken different classes from multiple instructors and I learned more from this lesson in a couple of hours than I learned in some multiple day classes. Matt has the experience, knowledge, and coaching to improve your shooting regardless of what context you want, whether it be self-defense, competition, or tactical.

For this lesson I wanted to focus on how to shoot on the move better in the context of competition. To gauge my shooting ability we first worked on the grip, the draw, and transitions. Some parts were very challenging, including transitions with partial targets up to 25 yards! Matt provided good tips and refinement even on some of the items which were review. We then launched directly into shooting on the move.

Matt set up a series of drills that hit all aspects of shooting on the move which included, position entry and exit, moving in all directions, shooting then moving, then shooting on the move, and even some hard leans. Because of the one-on-one lesson, I was able to quickly understand any problems I had with footwork and positioning, which can be hard to immediately diagnose in a big class.

At the end Matt set up a stage where we put it all together. Angela caught video of the lesson and Matt provided data about target scoring, split times, target transitions, and footwork. Because of video taken by Angela and feedback from Matt, I have homework that allows me to focus on specifically I need to practice on after the class.

Once again, I highly recommend this private lesson. Working one-on-one with Matt will provide you with immediate improvement and feedback on items you want to work on or need to work on to improve your shooting.

    Amazing Private Instruction

Posted by Glenna Thompson on 7th Jun 2023

I am so happy with the instruction provided by Matt. My husband and I were looking to build on our skills after a beginner’s course in Southern California. Texas has very different laws! I was nervous at first since it had been awhile, but he was very patient and helped fix my grip and got me firing right on target within one lesson. Very good instructor!
