A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to schedule your session. The lesson will be $50 per hour of instruction plus travel expenses if not local to the Austin, TX area. Angela is an avid shooter who has completed many hundreds of hours of formal firearms training and shoots competitively as well, holding a B class ranking in the US Practical Shooting Association. She is also a former nationally-competitive athlete and experienced yoga instructor who leverages the mindfulness and performance development aspects learned in those pursuits in her shooting practice and firearms instruction. Angela is often the assistant instructor in our open enrollment courses, and teaches a variety of women-only and beginner’s classes. Topics Covered: firearms orientation firearms safety fundamentals of marksmanship - stance, grip, sight alignment and picture, trigger press Weapon manipulations - draw, reloads, reholstering recoil mitigation target transitions Equipment Requirements: Serviceable pistol of 9mm or larger caliber, minimum 3 magazines (6 for single stack guns). Minimum 200 rounds of ammunition, although more is recommended. Eye/ear protection for range. No Serpa holsters or soft nylon/leather holsters permitted in class Pricing is for one student. I am a beginner with minimal prior training. After an evaluation, she tailored the training to my needs and weaknesses. She quickly identified what was causing my aim to be off target. By the end of the day, I was more comfortable and more consistent. I had clear guidance on what I should look for in a gun and what skills to work on. She takes the time to educate you, make sure you’re comfortable, and even challenges you when she knows you’re ready for the next step. I really wanted to learn how to handle a gun but I was VERY apprehensive. However I thought having a woman explain everything to me would be more comforting and less intimidating. I was thrilled with her instruction. She made me feel safe and was very patient with all of my questions and apprehensions. I am forever appreciative of her helping me along on my journey. I look forward to working with her in the future and wouldn’t think of anyone else to trust this process with.
